Who We Are
This Privacy Policy applies to Next Chapter Now LLC, operating the website at https://thenextchapternow.com. We provide career transition coaching, roadmap assessments, and community resources for professionals ready to write their next chapter.
References to “we,” “us,” or “our” throughout this policy mean Next Chapter Now LLC.
Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: what you give us directly, what’s collected automatically, and what third-party services provide.
Information you provide:
- Account registration: name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Assessment & roadmap responses: your career history, goals, and preferences submitted through our tools.
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address when you subscribe to updates.
- Comments: content and metadata you submit in comment forms, including your IP address and browser user agent for spam detection.
- Support inquiries: messages sent to us via email or contact forms.
- Payment information: billing details for paid plans, processed securely by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data: pages visited, time on page, referring URLs, and click behavior.
- Device & browser data: browser type, operating system, screen size, and IP address.

How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver and personalize your career roadmap and coaching experience.
- Manage your account and authenticate your login sessions.
- Send you the newsletter and platform updates, only if you’ve opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Respond to your support requests and inquiries.
- Detect and prevent spam, fraud, and abuse.
- Analyze aggregate site usage to improve our platform.
- Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.
We will never sell your personal information to third parties.
Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell or rent your data. We share it only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers: vendors who help us operate the site, including hosting (WordPress/GoDaddy), email delivery, payment processing, and analytics. They are contractually bound to keep your data confidential and use it only for the services they provide us.
- Spam detection: visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service (e.g., Akismet). Comment metadata, including your IP address, may be shared for this purpose.
- Gravatar: if you leave a comment, an anonymized hash of your email address may be sent to Gravatar to retrieve your profile picture. See Automattic’s privacy policy.
- Password reset: if you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
- Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or government authority.
- Business transfers: in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may transfer. We will provide notice before that happens.
Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies, small files stored on your device to keep the site working correctly and to understand how it’s used.
Comment cookies: If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for one year, so you don’t have to re-enter them next time.
Login cookies: When you log in, we set cookies to save your session and display preferences. Login cookies last two days; “Remember Me” extends this to two weeks. Logging out removes them. Editing or publishing an article sets a temporary cookie with the post ID; it expires after one day.
Analytics cookies: We use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand visitor behavior in aggregate. These cookies track pages visited and time on site, but do not identify you personally.
Your controls: You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. Some site features, such as staying logged in, require cookies to function and will be affected if cookies are disabled.
Embedded Content
Pages on this site may include embedded content, such as videos, social media posts, or external articles. Embedded content from other websites behaves as though you visited those sites directly. They may collect data about you, set their own cookies, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with the content including if you are logged in to their platform.
How Long We Retain Your Data
Comments: Approved comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments without holding them in a queue.
Account data: If you register on our site, we store the personal information in your profile. You can view, edit, or delete your information at any time from your account settings, except your username, which cannot be changed. Site administrators can also access and edit this information.
Other data: We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. When it’s no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymized.
Your Rights Over Your Data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request:
- Export: a file of all personal data we hold about you.
- Erasure: deletion of any personal data we hold about you, except data we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
- Correction: updates to inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Opt-out: unsubscribe from our newsletter or marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us directly.
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable privacy laws. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your data, including encrypted HTTPS connections, secure credential storage, and access controls. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure. If you believe your data has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
Children’s Privacy
Our services are designed for professionals and are not directed at anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of the page. For significant changes, we will notify registered users via email. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
